The difficult situation in Egypt will help Spain to “win” in the number of tourists in the last quarter of 2013.
The Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism of Spain, Jose Manuel Soria, said this week that by the end of the 2013 it is possible that the number of foreign tourists visiting Spain will exceed 58 million people.
This year can be called outstanding for Spain's tourism figures. For the first 8 months of this year have already been exceeded several records in tourism, such as, for example, the number of foreign tourists visiting Spain, and tourist spending per tourist per day. The august of 2013 can be described as “extraordinary” by the number of foreign tourists visiting Spain, and in September 2013 it was already registrated more tourists than in September 2012.
The minister also noted that “the year 2013 is a very good one for the Spanish tourism industry. Last year was not so excellent and no travel records were beaten, and there still were 57.8 million foreign tourists and if till the end of 2013 continued the positive trend of growth in the number of tourists, the figure will be exceeded”. The minister also said that does not yet have precise official data for September 2013, but all indicators point to the fact that we can expect growth in the number of foreign tourists visiting Spain, compared with September of the last year.
During the eight months of this year, the tourism minister said that “this period can be called the best in tourist figures for the last 12 years”. During this period, also reached record levels on spending of foreign tourists. In particular, the increased total flow of foreign tourists in Spain, as well as the individual consumption of each foreign tourist and the total flow of tourists for the time spent in Spain.
According to Minister Jose Manuel Soria, the current difficult political and economic situation in Egypt will affect the arrival of foreign tourists to Spain in the third and fourth quarter of 2013. There will be even more foreign visitors in Spain. In addition, the Minister emphasized that the increase in the flow of foreign tourists to Spain, first of all, was due to the tourists from Russia and China, which part rose by 30%.
